Melissa, Senior Development Manager (Corporates), works in the Campaign and Alumni Relations office at the University, helping the University to deliver its Impact Campaign. This will raise £150 million over the next five years to support a series of high-impact projects on the local, national and global stage.
One of the projects in the Campaign is Stroke Rehabilitation research. This year, this project has been chosen as the cause for the University’s cycling fundraising challenge, Life Cycle 3. The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor David Greenaway, and his team will cycle 1,100+ miles, taking in major cities and capitals of the UK and Republic of Ireland. They will be joined by Professor Marion Walker, Professor of Stroke Rehabilitation, and together they aim to raise £300,000.
Funds raised will address the often neglected needs of stroke survivors following hospital care, and the need for stroke specialist provision of rehabilitation at home.
